I wanted to build something of my own
I'm Linda-Louise, and Only Soft Things is something I built from scratch.
Only Soft Things didn't begin with a business plan. It began with a feeling. The quiet, persistent desire to create something from nothing. Something that was entirely mine, built with my own hands, shaped by the things I love and the values I hold.
I've always been drawn to slow, intentional living. To the small rituals that make an ordinary day feel meaningful, like a candle lit in the morning, a journal opened before the world gets loud, a cup of tea held with both hands. These things aren't luxuries to me. They're necessities. And I wanted to share them.
So I started building. Item by item, colour by colour, bundle by bundle. Only Soft Things grew from an idea into something real, made from scratch.

Everything we make, we make ourselves
I'm a maker at heart. There is something deeply satisfying about creating something beautiful with your own hands, and that feeling is woven into every Only Soft Things bundle.
The soy candles are hand-poured by me, one at a time, with fragrance oils chosen for the warmth they bring to a room. The lip balm is made from beeswax, shea butter,carrier oils and essential oils, simple, natural and made with care. The beaded keychains are threaded by hand. The crochet bookmarks are made stitch by stitch, each one slightly different from the last.
Nothing in an Only Soft Things bundle is an afterthought. Every item is chosen because it belongs, because it adds something soft and beautiful to the life of the person who opens the box.

I've always been a gift-giver. Not the kind who grabs something from a shelf at the last minute. The kind who thinks for weeks about what a person might love, what might make them feel truly seen.
But beautiful, personal gifting in South Africa has always felt harder than it should be. Generic hampers. Practical things wrapped in cellophane. Nothing that felt like it was made for a specific person, with care, with thought, with love.
Only Soft Things is my answer to that. Every bundle is designed to feel like it was chosen for the person receiving it. Whether it's a colour that suits them perfectly, a warm drink they love or a bundle built entirely around who they are, this is gifting that means something.
